Saint Louis Regional HERC

Developed in 2007, the Saint Louis Regional HERC (STLR HERC) is a collaborative response of member institutions to the many challenges of academic recruitment and retention. Of particular interest to the STLR HERC is finding effective ways to assist spouses and partners of faculty and staff as they look for area employment and to address issues of faculty and staff diversity.

A vital aspect of the STLR HERC is the web-based search engine that lists faculty and staff job listings at our member institutions. This search engine is free and available to anyone seeking employment in higher education, research or healthcare (medical centers) in the greater St. Louis area. The central location of the postings and regional resources as well as the website’s ability to allow job seekers to conduct dual career searches distinguishes STLR HERC from other employment websites.

The STLR HERC is composed of a diverse group of public and private colleges and universities, medical schools, world class teaching hospitals and research centers. Representatives from our member institutions meet regularly to share best practices and explore opportunities to promote the region as a place to work and live.

Mission

The STLR HERC supports the efforts of all its member institutions to recruit and retain outstanding faculty, administrators and staff through the sharing of information, resources and best practices.

Goals

Develop and promote a collaborative employment search website for faculty and staff positions at our member institutions.

Promote awareness of the Saint Louis Regional Higher Education Recruitment Consortium.

Share successful methods and best practices for addressing recruitment and retention issues.
